I had to leave the house for a while and my Silkies were in the run and we received some much needed rain, but the Silkies stayed out and did not go into the coop. They are soaked to the skin. I put them up and have a brooder light on them. Should I do anything else? They are 6 months old and have begun laying last week. They are my babies!

Let them air dry. Chickens will stand in the rain, they don't care. They just look horrible.

we give our silkies baths when they get all nasty and they are fine.

hehe I just had the kids go out to get our baby (couple month old) silkies b/c they were soaking wet and I paid too much for the eggs to hatch them just to have them die due to RAIN!

i use a blow dryer sometimes on them.......
