I have 2, 4 month old silkies in a mini coop in mt frokt yard. I heard my chicken screaming and i ran outside and racoon had her througu the bars. I thoufh she was dead for sure. I reached in to get her and she was still alive. She is missing her enitre rifht wing and the tip of her left. She is alert awake and doesnt seem to be in w lot of pain yet. What do i do? Do i put her down?

If she has will to live I would let her. Antibiotic cream and bandage if possible. Also I would separate so the other one can't peck at her. Preferably so they can still see each other through the wire.

Rat poison mixed with sardines does a fine job on raccoons. I lost a jersey giant rooster to one not to long ago. It was the only chicken I had named lol.

Just do what you can to stop the bleeding. Those cut pencils people use on shaving cuts (can't remember what they are called) are good. I've heard also of using flour but can't tell you for sure as I've never used it myself.

That's sad. I would have to think about putting her down.

My guess is that the racoon will be back soon, looking for her.

:hugs Luckly we don't have raccoons in the UK but Mr fox has still taken quite a few of my girls, it's awful.
