Help regarding feather eating?

We could try that, do you think it would help even if the problem has been going on and developing for a long time?
I would definitely try it. Sometimes they just need to snap out of it. They get so used to doing it they continue even if they don’t need the extra protein. I would put her in there and put stop-pick on the picked on hens to deter any additional picking and then order some pinless peepers. They don’t hurt the hen and the hen can be in with the flock like normal and it will stop the behaviour if the crating doesn’t work. Your hen will be mad to be in the crate but she will still be “with” the other chickens so it won’t cause too many issues.

:welcome!
Have you already tried a high protein diet including sunflower seeds and/or mashed hard boiled eggs?

I would put her in a large wire dog crate on the coop if you have space for that and leave her in there with her own food/water for a few days to a week and then try her out again.
Hello :)

What I did was left the little pecker in the outside area, attached to the coup, she slept on the top perch and the wired door locked. There's a wooden back connected the wired side and a front, both covered for winter.

I've sprayed the girls and she's behaving for now . We are due to get snow anytime so she's back in for now. Amber positions herself between them, amber is the mother figure to princess so feeling they'll be peace.

:duc Who ever told me chickens are easy was joking :D

I'll look out for a smaller box to go inside the coup it it isn't resolving. It would be bad if she froze in this weather

Yes, and crush eggshells twice a week into their nightly warmed mash with vegetables. They get oyster shell and must get more grit. I'd like to find another way of adding calcium for my one layer, I was hoping she'd stopped laying for the winter but she laid one today.

Rooster Booster is one that has pretty good reviews but there are many others to choose from, way too many for me to list on here but if you search for em they should just pop up for ya.

Hello! Just read through this post since I'm having a similar issue. I will say the pinless peepers did not work at all for me. First of all, it was very difficult to place on the main feather eater. Once it was on, she hated it so much that she kept scratching it and then she started bleeding out of her nostril within a minute. I felt absolutely terrible. Is Blue Kote an anti-pecking spray? I have 3 naked butts I'm thinking of treating with Blue Kote that I have on hand.
