Help Replacing Dickey electronic thermostat with the GQF Electronic Thermostat No. 3255

Now this all make sense

Yes all is factory just replacing thermostat but I just wanted to make sure

Thanks for the help

Did it the way we stated in previous post and only had the fan working.
So I emailed Mr Dickey and is reply is as follow
"on our thermostat white is the hot wire
black is the ground

blue is the wire to feed heating element
If you wire backwards it will short the thermostat.

I wonder why the color mixing just makes thing confusing. What an exercise just hope I did not short my thermostat I will try this tomorrow

So If I get the above right according to Mr Dickey wiring scheme I wire the
Dickey white to GQF Black
Dickey Black to GQF Green
Dickey Blue to GQF White

Can you confirm my conclusion

Well, why would Dickeys go completely backwards on wire color----black is a standard hot wire and white is ground. You better contact GQF and see what their wire "colors" are?

Have you tried just putting the white wire and the blue wire together temporary to see if the heater comes on---making sure the wafer is backed off enough its not touching its pressure switch? ""New Thermostat not hooked up doing this""! If it don't then the heater is burnt out or the wafer thermostat.

GQF website has wiring diagram . Don't know how much that would have helped if dickey is using a different wire color code. GQF electronic thermostats are polarity sensitive and the internal solid state relay will be damaged instantly if polarity is reversed. Good luck, hope its ok.
