Hi everyone I have a Rouen duck who is malpositioned. It had a saddle air sac. It's siblings hatched yesterday. I removed the shell where the air sac was because I thought the beak had pipped through but after removing I realized what I was seeing was his leg. I can't find its head at all. All I can see is the yolk sac and his leg. I need help. I'm not sure how to proceed without killing the poor thing. The inner membrane is still intact.

Update: I found the beak and pipped a hole through to it. The little guy was completely upside down. Any suggestions on how to help would be appreciated

If you can still see the yolk sac its not ready. keep it moist with extra sponges or even paper towel over it. When you touch the warm paper towel to the membrane from the bottom by the foot you should see if the blood veins are dried up or not. Member Sally Sunshine has some really great articals and pictures on here you should take a look at. Its for chicks but its the same. you should be able to find it in the search bar. I dont know how to link you . good luck.
