I know one is a Drake, just not sure on the other that happens to be a crested Peking. The drake is decisively larger and a little more calm which lead me to believe the other who is more skiddish is a duck. However, when they got older I started to believe both might be drakes. However, they are same age and one has a really distinctive drake feather and the other has some upright tail feathers but not the curl as the drake has.

thanks in advance. If they both are drakes we may be putting up on craigslist for we really were in it for the eggs. We lost our 3 hens to foxes and they pekings were not to kind to them and afraid if we get some more hens it will be worse trouble now they are older and bigger.

How old are they?

The second looks like it might be developing a drake feather.

Sure fire way to tell is the noise they make, the drakes will make a whispery quack, and the hens will be noticably louder.

Good luck!!

I think they are about 4 1/2 months. I can't tell much difference in their voice so probably is a drake. They both are crazy loud when they get going and if you blind folded me I couldn't tell you which one is which. Darn

That sticky on sexing ducklings at the top of the duck section has sound files attached. The bottom one could be developing a little slower, but that feather does look like it is trying to curl.

Thanks all I think i am resigning to fact that they are both drakes unfortunately. So they will probably go on craigslist shortly. So I can start over.
