I'll go out on a limb and guess that your chick is male. Post more pictures, then maybe I'll change my mind, but for now, given the pictures posted, I'm gonna guess male.i did.. but i just read on line that some of the darker ones are prone to being male..LOL . so i'm not sure anymore what to believe I guess i could play the waiting game and just see what happens..
any idea maybe its like Conures and its feet color.. my guy has white feet .. at least they are going white.. they definitely lightened over the last week and half

If it's 3 weeks old and still has that much barring I would go with male.yes wings are clipped , as she/he was flying up to the top of our fireplace and its over 7' high and hard to get he/she down.. so can still fly just can't get as high anymore..
age i'm guess about 3 weeks.. this would be the 2nd week i've had her/him.. i can ask the breeder on hatch date.
Good to know! How do you sex them so young?
I have pictures of my peachicks when they were three weeks old.exactly what i want to know..LOL.. i read it has to do with the barring on the feathers and such..but can't figure that out.

Barring is the big one but color can help too.

The bigger two are a few days ahead of the smaller two. They 4 of them are 3 weeks old at least. Se the small one in between the bigger ones. Notice how the other three have barring on the wings while the one in the middle is going more solid.![]()
These are 2 of the 4 peachicks my hen hatched out. They are three weeks old. The female is in the back and the male is upfront. Notice how he has barring on his secondary feathers while the female is more solid secondary feathers. If you look at the coloring of the wing you will see how the male has an orange while the hen has a brown.![]()
I agree!I'm going to guess the Monet is a male. You'll have to keep us all updated on Monet.
