Both appear to be Indian Blue peafowl. Peahens for the Indian Blues look like that. This my Indian Blue peafowl pen.

This is the father and mother of my peachicks. The mother is looking down at her peachicks. The peachicks are only a few days old in the photo so they can hide in the grass.

These are the chicks with their mother a few days ago.

@SassyMustang198 - Why do you say Mom is Pied?

she looked pied to me.. again never seen to many females.. and the white chest stood out to me..and i've seen pied females online that looked like her.. i'm no expert.. so yeah.. some of the indian blue females i've seen ( again online) look darker minus the white chest. so it throw me off.

@SassyMustang198 - it can be tricky to tell with hens, sometimes they have hidden genetic surprises!

(I experienced this first hand with our India Blue girl who was split to Black Shoulder). I thought you might know something interesting about her parents!

Well from what i learned today talking to the breeder.. is that the mom original mom was a pied female, the female in the picture is the daughter to that pied, and ( common or not again don't know) is bred to her dad, male pictured.. but the father is a carrier of Pied as his parents were pied somewhere down the line..but i would think if it was carried the chicks would have some white feathering but i checked today and didn't see any babies with white feathers so i'm guess they are all Indian Blues..but the father also looks slightly Black Shouldered..but you can see it really in the pictures.. the original owner of the peafowl just breeds them randomly to any genetic so its a bowl of mystery..LOL.. i got my baby from them as a gift.. so i'm not picky he is what he is.. and who knows what he is.. right now i'm going to go with the standard Indian Blue until he starts getting colors and turns into something different. but i doubt it..LOL

Updated pictures from today

Monet's a good name! I'm gonna agree with Birdrain & ricebaby and guess that Monet's a male.

Looks like an Indian Blue Peahen to me. But with what you're saying, it sounds like they might have some hidden genes as new2 has said earlier. Who knows, many more surprises (besides Monet) may be in store for you.
