Help!!! She left the nest again!!!

Not much you can do but wait and watch...from somewhat afar....and never give her eggs again.
It can be a couple few days between first egg hatching and the last egg hatching.
Do you have a brooder set up in case she has one hatch and live but won't take care of it?
Hang in there!

Yes, I have everything still from my last/first chicks, and can pull em out and raise them in my sunroom for a few weeks if necessary. I've been plotting out the run and coop, and gathering materials in case I have to separate them from the flock...just never been through this painful waiting game before! So far she seems to be mothering her firstborn very well, and the other hens and my rooster have shown very little interest...just checking it out when the chickie comes out from under Mommy and peeps, then going on about their daily business as if this happens all the time! LOL! I think we'll be ok, but this patience thing is killing me! ...definitely not my strong suit!

My hen Fajita has left her eggs twice now at day 15. Cold, and she's sitting on fresh laid eggs from other hens.
Nest confusion... maybe not totally the hens fault. :hmm

And is ONE reason why some people separate their broody's from the flock. I don't, stuff happens.

One chicks is a terrible number to raise. If you're gonna steal chicks to adopt to another hen... I suggest half or not less than a pair.

I had them going at just under 100 degrees for almost an hour, then it jumped to 104!
Not usually the end of the world.

Hope she comes through. :fl :jumpy:jumpy

Still would (I) NEVER let sit on eggs and expect her to go full term. :)

This was more of a test run of if it's possible. I got 18 fertilized eggs and split them between both my Cuckoo Marans that went broody. I have a brroder if things go bad, but I am just letting them do what they can. I am really only looking to replace 3 hens and the rest will be for food. But I like to keep a hands off approach as much as possible.
