Help, Should I clip my chicken's wings?

Hi there,

I am a longtime "lurker" of BYC and I just joined today as I got 2 D'Uccle pullets (my first chickens) yesterday. I went to feed them this morning and they panicked... One of them flew into a nearby tree and just kept getting higher up in the tree. I eventually caught her but it was very stressful for my poor chicken.

I do not want this to happen again as I live on a heavily wooded property. Should I clip their wings? How do you do that properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

I clipped one wing on each of my escapies Our backyard is contained by a tall fence so if they escape the run, the damage they do is to the garden, which is why I clipped. Somehow, my Barred Rocks still manage to get over (5' chain link) and so I tried clipping the second wing to see if that helps. I watched about a half dozen tutorials before I clipped to make sure i did it safely.
