help, sick 4 week old chick, ? neurological problem

Check this product out, I think this is what you need. I have a 5 week old who is very shaky & wobbly, she looks weak and frail. I was told by a nice lady on this site that its more than likely a vitamin A and E deficiency, and I read up on it, I think she is right on the mark. Read this article and then follow the next link to read about this product called nutri-drench for chickens. Hope this helps you

Hi, Other Nancy,

Thanks for the advice. She is smaller than the others, but they are cockerels. She was the only pullet in the group.

The thing is, without the dex, this chick was miserable. She just sat flopped over on one side and trembled with her eyes closed and feathers fluffed out. And I am prepared to lose her. I kinda expect to lose her. But I'm not prepared to watch her suffer.

If it is an injury to her spine, the dex will help. If it's Marek's, it will help her to feel better, and it will help to get back some of her motor function. But it will make it harder for her to fight the disease.

So, I weighed the risks and benefits, and decided to try to help her to feel better. She is a whole lot stronger, getting around better and and eating very well. She seems cheerful and alert. So, so far it's been a good thing. But Marek's is a strong possibility, and even if she makes it, she'll be a carrier. So I'm not sure what I'd do with her.

For now, she seems to like watching TV.
