Fresh cut hay can have a high moisture content, hence puts of gases as it cures.

You were given the feed and don't know what kind so how do you know whats in it and you have used it before so does this mean the feed is the same feed you used last time as in same bag?

Just trying to figure out what you typed here so we can mabe help you figure whats going on.

I still say do away with the hay just as precaution.

They seem much better this morning since I put the Terramycin in their water. Not the same bag!It's what they use for chicks, only I have to crush it myself, and I just got a bag of high protein feed and added it to the other stuff. As I clean their cage today, I may just leave it with the wire bottom and put a pan of shavings or something under the heat lamp. They should be old enough by now.
