For about a week now I've had asthma and feeling achey off & on (it comes and goes). When I bought my birds from the feed store over 2 months ago one died. The others have all been fine since then. I didn't think much of it until today. - it has been pouring here (VA). I have my birds in a 'Chick n Barn & Run' that I bought from the feed store. They've been doing great until today. It poured so hard they were soaked., bedding was soaked, ground was puddles. It was hopeless to try to dry out anything since it's still pouring, so I grabbed all my babies and took them inside. They are now indoors in a small dog carrier with dry, fresh bedding, all huddled together sleeping. They looked happy.... Then I took out Ms. Peeps, my black cochin, (just to pet her a bit) and she was wheezing! No abnormal activity except that - she's always tame, so I didn't notice it at first since she always lets me hold her.
Should I be this concerned? After reading other posts on bird flu and respiatory diseases I'm now worried she might die, and worried I have might have something worse than simply allergies. I don't have any meds here for her (except aspirin, ibufrofen, and antibacterial creams). Is there anything I can give her until I can get to the store tomorrow morning? Should I be concerned about myself?
I don't have any medical chicken health books yet since I'm still a newbie. Thanks for any help you can give me!
