okay, I didn't know whether to post this here or in raising baby chicks. We have one little Partridge Wyandotte that's a ton smaller than the others. Her name is Piper. She hates opening her eyes, she'll only open them a tiny slit when we offer her food or water. she can't walk, she can only tumble forward awkwardly with her wings outstretched. We took her away from the other 26, they were trampling her. She sits on her legs, she can't stand up straight, only kind of fall down on her hocks (I don't really know what to call them, we call them hocks on horses), and she hates the other birds. She has her own seperate box, heat lamp etc. but she hates being alone, too. she's cry really loudly nonstop unless someone is holding her. she hasn't eaten nearly anything at all, only about 4 little granules of feed, stuck in her mouth with tweezers. HELP!

She may be too under developed to eat on her own. The fact that she can't stand is an indication how weak she is. Try hand feeding her and keep her from crying for a few days as this only weakens her more. Time will tell but keep trying as she may have the "will to live " and pull through just fine. Best of luck with her !

It sounds like you are doing all the right things for her. She sounds very weak. Try a little sugar in her water or a chopped up boiled egg.
(My mom used to do that when I was a kid and we were raising turkeys) Hopefully, someone else will answer with more ideas.

Take Care

How old? If it is more that a couple days old...sounds like you might want to consider culling. Only a day old then you might try electorlytes or sugar water...dehydration is much worse than the food thing...try dribbling some water...little water droppers are the best...goodluck

Im so sorrry! It's so frustrating, right!

. One of my chicks was Just like this! One of my chicks couldn't stand up, unless you coaxed them up. Then she would just wobble there. I saw her get water and food a couple times, but after a day or two she died.
I hate to brake it to you but she might die, im so sorry!!!!! I want you to know that it is possible and it may very happen. When i posted something like this about my chick nobody told me that she would propably die, i kind of expected it but ya know i didn't expct it that quick at least. I really really really really hope she lives!!!!!

But, how old is she????????

Hi, I'm goldlaced_girls sister :). Unfortunately Piper died yesterday morning. And what she said about piper loving to be held is true. She would right asleep and stay like that for two hours. Then of course i woul wake her up to get some water into her. She was pretty good about drinking. Our chicks were hatched on the 3rd. But the other 25 are doing very well. But piper was sorts my fave cuz she was so friendly. :-(
