Let me tell you a little story:
On Wed. 11/22, I went into the chicken coop to let them out into the yard, and while everyone typically runs out, my 7 month old buff orpington, Orpy, stayed sitting on the ground. I went over to her to see what was wrong and she did not look good. Her tail feathers were down and her eyes were closed. My first thought for some reason was that she was eggbound, ( I'm not sure if I'm getting any eggs from her bc I have many brown egg layers ) and a mysterious egg was on the ground next to her. It was not brown like an orpington egg. It was the color of a silkie egg ( I know it wasn't my silkie because she recently hatched out chicks and the egg was too large to be hers. ) I still have no idea who laid that egg.
On Thurs. 11/23, she may have been doing a little bit better but was still very sickly. She was walking around know and eating and drinking (I gave her ACV in her water.) Her tail was still down still droopy wing sometimes and eyes closed too.
Today Fri. 11/24, still the same. She doesn't seem to be doing any worse, but she's not getting better either.

I checked her legs to see if they were broken on had leg mites. No.
I checked her feathers for lice or mites. I don't think so.
I checked her crop. Felt fine to me.
Her eyes and nostrils are clear too.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

There’s so many things to go through. I mean I don’t know why but the first thing that came to my mind was depression maybe for some reason she is depressed as well as the egg color usually this is molting season we are eggs begin to decrease as well as the color. Was there any losses within your barnyard Pyes or a toy any change in lifestyle ?Has she been laying long or she is to beganning. If beginning they do have similar female emotions to when we are fertile. If you know what I mean .hopefully others will come upon an ask questions to help you

She is only 7 months old and won't go through a molt until next fall. There hasn't been any changes I don't think. Her comb and wattle is very pale.
Thanks for the help.

I would very carefully and gently check inside her vent for an egg. Is she pooping ok? She could possibly have a juvenile/mini molt at that age, which makes them feel lousy. This sounds like something a little more serious than that, though.is her breathing normal? Does her abdomen (fluffy butt) feel swollen and squishy? I think you should bring her inside so you can monitor her eating, drinking, laying, breathing and pooping. Isshe pumping her tail at all?

I also agree that checking her for being egg bound by inserting a gloved finger inside the vent 1-2 inches to feel for a hard egg. Sometimes rubber shell-less eggs or overly large eggs get stuck. Lubricate her vent with a little vegetable oil or similar. If you find an egg or egg material, then give her water and calcium tablet or Tums in the back of her throat. Do not soak her in warm water unless you feel an egg. You can place her in a humid room on a low heating pad. If there is no egg, then give her water with electrolytes, or Palin water and get some Poultry Cell or Nutri-Drench and give 2-3 ml per day. She could just have some temporary illness that she may get over, but it can be hard to know for sure. I am not an orpington expert, but mine laid pale tan eggs. There can be some loss of color late in the laying season, but she is far from the end of her first season. There is a good article about "Common Egg Quality Disorders" if you Google that.
