Let me tell you a little story:
On Wed. 11/22, I went into the chicken coop to let them out into the yard, and while everyone typically runs out, my 7 month old buff orpington, Orpy, stayed sitting on the ground. I went over to her to see what was wrong and she did not look good. Her tail feathers were down and her eyes were closed. My first thought for some reason was that she was eggbound, ( I'm not sure if I'm getting any eggs from her bc I have many brown egg layers ) and a mysterious egg was on the ground next to her. It was not brown like an orpington egg. It was the color of a silkie egg ( I know it wasn't my silkie because she recently hatched out chicks and the egg was too large to be hers. ) I still have no idea who laid that egg.
On Thurs. 11/23, she may have been doing a little bit better but was still very sickly. She was walking around know and eating and drinking (I gave her ACV in her water.) Her tail was still down still droopy wing sometimes and eyes closed too.
Today Fri. 11/24, still the same. She doesn't seem to be doing any worse, but she's not getting better either.
I checked her legs to see if they were broken on had leg mites. No.
I checked her feathers for lice or mites. I don't think so.
I checked her crop. Felt fine to me.
Her eyes and nostrils are clear too.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
