I am 99.9% Clostridium perfringens. Is what my Harriet is suffering from.I know she needs antibiotics. No vets here treat chickens. I have fish pen. Penicillin. she is a cream leg bar 1.5 years old how do I go about administering It to her? It is in pill form. I have divided kflex before to give to a cat. But. How much for a bird?

Can you try to get a fecal test done by your vet? Have you treated with Corid for coccidiosis? C.perfringens enteritis can be diagnosed by a vet, and usually is preceded by a coccidiosis infection.

Can you tell us the name of the product you have and the strength. Fish Mox or amoxicillin dosage is 125 to 250 mg twice a day for 7-10 days for an average sized hen.

I will also say the poop has zero blood.

I can’t find the dosage for oral penicillin. It looks like it comes in 250mg tablets or capsules. The injectable form of penicillin is 300,000 Units per ml, and the dosage for a chicken is 0.1 to 0.25 ml once daily for 4-5 days.

I have been searching and found 200-300 mg per day. So a 1/2 tab crushed 2x a day thanks

Hi - my chicken was just diagnosed with Clostridium so I was searching the forums to learn more and saw your thread. Don’t have anything much to add but wanted to say that the vet prescribed Tylosin.
