Help! Sick chickie. What to do?

This little one is 6 days old and does not look like it's going to make it. sleeps all the time and its belly looks weird. Breathing hard, too. Help?

Is the area around the navel swollen? Did you hatch these yourself?

Yes, it's swollen. No, I bought it from a local farm. I'm brand new to chickens.

Look up omphalitis. It is an infection of the navel. Unfortunately there is not much you can do.

I think you're right. It just died.
