Please can you help me- my 3 year old goose is suddenly not moving and seems very lethargic. I have checked her over but no injuries or obvious signs. She just sits and does drink water. She laid a clutch of eggs and they disappeared (dogs?) before she had a chance to sit on them. That was 2 weeks ago.

How is her body condition? Reach into her chest/stomach feathers and feel for her keel, does her keel jut out from her body like a blade?

Also do you see any injuries?

What feed is she on? Have you seen her eating lately?

What do her droppings look like?

She feels fine and no apparent injuries but I will check her keel tomorrow. She eats grass, and a mix of wheat & corn. Plus apples and cabbage occasionally. She is drinking water.

She may be nutrient deprived. That’s the most common reason for sudden lameness besides injury or a bacterial or viral infection. I don’t know where in the world you are so I can’t suggest brands but if you can get a 20% protein waterfowl start, multiflock, or all flock type feed that would be good.

If you can get her some B vitamins or a liquid multi vitamin start administering it to her water.
