Help! Sick peachicks

Pics
Glad they are home and doing a flood better. Did the vet say why they chose oxytetracyline?
He felt it covered a wider range of infection types. There is a swab he could have done it was $160/bird 😢 it would have need to go in a covid like tube for transport to Michigan State. They did not have the tube and I would have needed to bring them back when the tube arrived. I considered swabbing one but then he said what if they pass before the results are back 😭💔 I am glad they were not in the room to hear that negative comment. Passing is not an option here! We are fighting 24/7!
I check the chick at least each hour around the clock. I worry about the heat lamp going out or them needing my help!
I personally would have felt better if the first 3 days was the IM injection. I think they were doing better this morning. They go through phases with the phlegm. It seems like when they want to sleep they gape the most. They are very tired.
I am considering adding the Baytril to them. Why not hit them up the best I can with what I have the first few days. I believe it is a different drug class so we would just cover an even wider range!
Apologies for the long message again! You helped me so much keeping them going. I am forever grateful! Thank you so much 🤗

The picture isn't recent enough; they are about 6 weeks old now. When I first got the chicks I had them in a plastic tub with fine wood shavings, which are very absorbent and clean. They soon outgrew the tub so now they are in a wire pen on the patio that has closely spaced bars for a floor. And you are welcome-sounds like the prayers were answered. YEAH!
Aw see they are a few weeks ahead of mine. I love peacocks they are gorgeous birds! I was under the impression we couldn’t bed them with wood chips or sawdust. I read no wood chips on another site but anytime I had chicks it was always large wood chips so they did not choke on them.
I have mine on straw now so they have the extra heat. I Have been struggling to keep mine at 90 degrees. Of course this would be a cold week in August. Nothing is working out in our favor! Air kisses 😘 to your little chicks they are so cute!!!!

I am so happy you took them! :hugs Please keep us updated.
Hi! My chicks may be a tiny bit better but not enough. I think I should add a drop of oxytetracycline orally or the Baytril or both 💔 I expected them to be doing better. Do you have any opinions on this? They need my help 😢
thank you!
