Help! Sick Peahen! Blackhead!

I do not know where you live as you have not filled out your profile yet, but here in the USA we have a liquid form we get at the farm stores called Safeguard. We give 2.0ml for a mature peahen and 3.0ml for a mature peacock. I prefer Albendazole as it is water-soluble. Remember the first step to controlling Black Head is to control the worms.

I found a safeguard equivalent which is fenbendazole at 10%. First time deworming , is it better to give .5ml per 2.2pounds for 5 days directly into the mouth or to disolve 3ml into 1 Liter for 5 days? She or any of the peafowls dont poop yellow anymore, thank God and you, but I have noticed the paper we put under them when they go to sleep is extremely wet in the morning. They are all pooping like the poop in the picture now instead of yellow, they also poop normal hard ones though. They still have lots of apetite, good mood, no dropped wings. They are all around 1 year old

You can give yearlings 2.0ml and always orally never in water as it is not water soluble.

Update! I have seen improvement once I started with the fenbendazole. The black shoulder peahen now poops very little yellow and normal poop. She however has also started to poop this greenish poop also. I did feed her leaves from this tree 4 days ago , would shred them into the probiotic so she would have some. Could this green poop be caused by this from her cecal pouch? Im a little worried that the other peacocks are showing like 10% yellow in their urates, they all excrete normal hard poop also by now. Could the little yellow be caused by the probiotics and vitamins mix as in the picture? I have already completed 3 days of baytril and 5 days of metrodinazole.

Hello! My peahen is much better! I hope there is no relapse but all 6 peafowl look cured. Very rarely I see a slight tinge of yellow but the probiotic and vitamins are colored that way so I dont know. They finished the 5 days of treatment with fenbendazole just today. They are taking amprolium and probiotics right now. I think I might give a day of metrodinazole in a few days just to be sure. I used 15mg/kg of baytril for 3 days once a day, 50mg/kg of metrodinazole for 5 days. After these two medicines I used a Safeguard equivalent ,fenbendazol 10%, at 2ml for peahens 1 year old, 3ml for peacocks 1 year old for 5 days to treat all worms and probiotics and amprolium. Do not mix medicines all at once! I want to express my gratitude for this forum. It has saved my peafowl more than once. For many of us they are just not animals, they are friends. Special thanks to KsKingBee , could not have done this without him and Kathy indirectly for all the reference posts on medicines and dosage.
