I have 4 new sebrights that are with 3 mixed breeds, all about 3 weeks old. Only the sebrights are having issues, their eyes seem to constantly be closed, the walk a little crooked and today I had them outside and then when I picked them up to bring them in I noticed they have a crusty type of discharge on their wings where they meet their body. They seem lethargic and just blah...I don't know what to do. I didn't see any mites, no worms in their poo but I didn't look too closely. Any ideas??? I can try to get a picture....

Have you noticed any sneezing or discharge from the nostrils or eyes? The crust on the wings could be where they tuck their heads under wings and could be rubbing off on them.

No that's what's strange...their eyes might be a bit puffy. The crust is on the top of their wings as well which is odd though I suppose it might be them wiping it off?

That is my first thought, that they're wiping it off. But where is it coming from in the first place is the question. Did you get all of the chicks at the same place/same time? I'd separate the sebrights from the rest. Are they holding their tails up or down? If they're wobbly, you might try some PolyViSol baby vitamins (no iron) for them. Some things are vitamin related. Some things more complicated, and I'd be hesitant to get into that because I'm not all that qualified in some of the more serious things. I did have a little bantam roo die from apparent Mareks from what the necropsy said, but never showed the classic symptoms that a lot describe with it. I treated him for anything and everything. The only thing I can suggest is vitamins, unless you can see a specific respiratory issue. Puffy eyes is one sign, but that could also be maybe something in the bedding. All four showing symptoms though lead me to believe it could be something they picked up before you got them. I really don't have a good answer for you, I'm sorry. I hope someone more qualified can chime in on this when they're online. There are quite a few knowledgeable people here.

They could be wiping it off and I'm just not catching it. They are wobbly, and seem to sit down a bit more than the rest. I did get them all at the same place and time. I thought it could be bedding but it just pine shavings and they were outside most of the day. I'm just stumped because the 3 mixed breeds that I got seem fine...

I'm stumped too. I have a pair of Golden Sebrights..a roo and pullet and they're about 16 weeks old. They grew up in the brooder with my large chicks. I don't want to say that they were "fragile" but they did get stepped on from time to time, although mostly they held their own. Maybe they're just not as strong yet as the larger ones? The crust on the wings is still there, though, so....

My first thought is that I would treat for coccidiosis. I don't have a clue what the crust is but, the other symptoms would make me want to treat with Corid. The nice thing is, it won't hurt them if it isn't the problem...and, if it is the problem, you will notice improvement almost immediately.

I am wondering if the 'crust' isn't something that they rolled in while outside dust bathing.

I might go to TSC and grab some Corid. As you mentioned it won't hurt them.

I will try to get a picture of their wing. I would think they got into something too but it is in the exact same spots on both of them and on both wings. It's very strange, I didn't see any mites or cuts or irritation. Ugh  at least they are eating and drinking and do perk up if the others come near.

Their eyes are red and puffy today, and I noticed they are breathing a little strange, almost wheezing and just exhausted. They were going crazy trying to get meal worms but that's about it. I'm pretty sure the crusty stuff on their wings is from them wiping their beaks. I moved them away from the others and they are sleeping huddled up together, not looking well at all.

I'm stumped and couldn't find Corid :( I added some vitamins to their water but I don't know what else to do...
