HELP!! Silkie attacking me ;,(

We had a silkie roo and he became very aggressive. He wouldn't attack my husband but he attacked me several times and attacked my 2 year old son so much that we had to get rid of him. He would fly up in my sons face and hair and one time knocked him down. We tried to tame him by pinning him down whenever he would show the behavior but nothing worked.

We had two silkie cockerels out of the four silkie chicks I got. One was agressive from the get go and just got worse annd worse. He was going after everyone and the other was busy protecting the girls from him. They were raised the same way but the one was nuts and the other a gentleman. We only have the gentleman now and everyone is happier.

The swept back feathers are usually on boys. Even my hatchery girls had good poofs and couldn't see (hair cut them) at that age. I don't see much of comb on your bird, maybe a late bloomer? I thought my black boy was a girl for the longest time, then he crowed. I wish silkies were easier to sex.

Did you raise him from a chick and handle him a lot?

We did raise him from a chick. In fact, we've had him since he was hatched. He was always handled. Then he just turned mean! He went to a farm with many lovely girls in need of a roo
