i have a 3-4 eek old splash silkie chick. its very thin and was in a horid living condition. it and fellow chicks were in a larger type shed and 3 rows of cages were on the wall and 2 or 3 adulths in wire rabbit cages. i reported them.
anyyways, the chick eatS small amounts of food and water. its active but when it sleeps its head goes down and gasps for air and then it awakensx. it hadlike neck spasms or tremors but only when it sleeps. durring day it follows me. it also had stuffy nise and smelly poo...more smelly than chicks ive had. ive got qtip and ckeaned nose as best as i ciuld. i got a bit of brown stuff from it. im thinking it could be sick as its been outside alk its life around other adults and in unsanitary cinditions.
overal problems :
- gasping for air when it sleeps. only when sleeps
- swollows a lot like its drinking something tho nothings there.
- neck and h,ead move when sleeps not too badly tho
- doesnt eat and drink a whole lot.
- very smelly poo. some runny at times and one time yellow color.
- stuff nose and when i put little pressir on nostril its runny a bit. only when i touch it .
what could he have wrong? can it be cured and will he be ok? is there a way to help him gain more weight?
i asked a friend of facebook and he gave me a idea to do mixture of apple cider vinegar , water and a but of salt nd i did what he s'tated. he ate a bit more then normal day but still does gasping and neck thing.
