Hiya can anyone tell what sex my 8 week silkie is...and yes i know they are hard to sex hence why im looking for silkie pros. Thanks heaps

Cute bird !
Since breeders won’t even sex silkies at 8 weeks it’s all just guessing at this point.
Waiting for an egg or a crow is the only 100% effective way to sex a silkie.....

Does your bird eat cauliflower? Mine won’t touch it

Thank guys i was hoping he would be a she haha wishfull thinking! Half my flock ate it it was their first time but the other half wouldnt touch it

Don’t do anything rash like getting rid of that chick , I bought a rooster from a silkie breeder that laid an egg a few months later .... you really don’t know yet !!

Don’t take anything as 100% true until you’ve done your own research, opinions are free but also just opinions

I'm gonna guess cockerel too because of the comb. It has a girly face if that means anything. Maybe a feminine rooster who won't crow as loud?

I'd say cockerel. BUT for 24.00 you can send a few feathers in for DNA sexing. To Avian Biotech Labs in Tallahassee, Florida. One week turn around. SO WORTH IT-
I usually send part of the egg from each chick as it hatches and send in but if I am not sure about which egg came from each chick--feathers.
