i went out to check on my chickens when i tried to grab my hen my rooster came and jumped at me i didnt get hurt but when i tried to grab him he jumped at me again! is this normal!?!?!

It's not usually a silkie trait, so not normal--but not really truly surprising. Roosters don't like people handling their hens. If he's young, he might grow out of this, and if he's aggressive for no reason, there are several threads on how to modify rooster behavior. Otherwise, just handle the hens gently and he should ignore you.

If you have little kids, get a new rooster. There are plenty of (free) silkie roosters who are far too gentle to attack people, and they could use homes.

When Peep-Peep started getting hormonal, I just picked him up and poked him on the head lightly to scold him before putting him back down once he calmed back down. The light poke being a thing akin to a scolding peck of a mama hen.

I raised him since he was a chick though, and I am not sure how long you have had your silkie. Peep-Peep now even defends me from Foot Slayer, the feisty hen who hates my feet some reason despite being fine with me otherwise. She starts pecking at me and chasing my feet around and Peep-Peep runs over to my rescue and grabs her to make her run off.
