Help snake killed my broody and ate all eggs except 2..

I am glad you found a broody. I have one but its a long drive to MO from TX. Good luck and please let us know.

Well my friends broody hen is still setting on my 2 eggs that I hope I saved she's been turning them so I think that's good.. I have a question?

Would the broody hen know the eggs are still good if she's turning them or will she do that anyway. They are do to hatch this week Friday. Would she be able to feel them move under her and that's why she still turning them.

I am so sorry to hear about your sad news! I don't know what I'd do if I found a snake had done that damage.

I have found that I simply trust the broody. I have used three different broody hens a couple of times each, and I am always amazed at how they know what to do. Since they should be so close to hatch, any pip holes yet? Have you heard them chirping inside the egg? Have you candled them after the incident for proof of life?

I had an instance where one of my eggs was not ready to hatch, but my broody had the clutch to raise, so she abandoned it. I found the egg alone and cold. I immediately put it in my shirt to warm her up while I problem solved. I made a makeshift incubator with a heating pad, thermometer, sponge, and heat lamp. As I was finishing making it, I heard my chick start to chirp in the egg. I candled her, and she was moving all around. Although I admittedly kept her in my shirt keeping her my body temperature for most of the time, I used the little heat box too. The next day, my perfect little Poppy hatched.

I hope you have a success story too.

Well there at a friends house under her broody so idk if they are piping yet or if I would be able to here them. I ask her for updates and the hen so far is still setting on them and turning them but that's about it. I don't want to bother her to much about them cuz she's busy with her house stuff and kids and grandkids. I will try to ask her tomorrow if she here's anything or notices anything.

I didn't candle them after the accident but it was day 15 and I couldn't tell if I was noticing movement or if my eyes were just wanting to see it. It was still big black blob and some veins.

Well sorry guys I have been so busy helping friends I didn't post an update..
One egg wasn't good she said and the other egg exploded under the broody hen my friend had so none of my babies survived.
