Mom duck left her eggs for about 12 hours today, and I think they are 1-2 weeks away from hatching IF they are still alive and living in there!! What should I do!! Help me!! I have always let my ducks do their thing but I am worried about these eggs, because she is a new breed of duck that I have never had before! Help me! I am planning on candling them tomorrow morning! I have never candled eggs before, and didn't know I should until now! If the chicks are... uggh.. you know... DEAD... how do I dispose of them! I am going to feel awful!

So is she back on them or has she totally stop sitting on them? If she is back on them and it wasn't real cold they should be fine.

I candled two out of the five duck eggs. In the first one there was a dark spot about the size of a quarter, maybe a little bigger, and the second one there was a little bigger than that. I dont know what to say. Anyone want to tell me how far along they are. There are air pockets at the top of both. Im going to do the other three in a while. Im scared....

Were there any visible veins in the eggs when you candled them?
