Nope, she is the only hen with eggs at the moment. It is very weird!

I keep telling my self to let it go and not worry about it. But my brain wont let me, I stayed up all night trying to figure out the logic in it.

I hope he survives, poor thing looks like he has a neck brace on.

It will be a 'mystery' that keeps you up many nights! Here what you're saying about 7 + 3 = 10 but also know chickens don't live birth. So it's very possible an egg was "hiding" somewhere. The soft egg shell, she could have hatched that internally but highly unlikely? Nature is a mystery and we'll never figure it all out. Hope your little one pulls through. If you ever figure this mystery out, let us know.

I didn't mean another hen was broody on it, but maybe another hen laid the fertilized egg that rolled into a warm place and hatched...somehow. That sounds really far fetched, doesn't it?

All the chicks came from a different breed. She is a surrogate hen. But if this random new chick survives and grows up I can tell if this is her baby or not.

It could have been a good possibility if I had other hens laying eggs. Its been really hot here lately!
