Ah, a fish....lol.....so could they be left in a metal tub for long periods of time???? And what about during the winter???? Hmmmm....it's an idea....I just don't want the ducks trying to eat them.....LOL!!!

How funny I was thinking that too!!! But then you have to feed the fish, and then you have the fish poop to worry about!!!.......
I do know that live plants are really good to keep in ponds! They eat up a lot of the nutrients, they overeat the algea! Making it harder for algea to grow! But I don't know if the ducks would try to eat them
they probably would huh?! Well I do know that Koi and ducks do really good together! And Koi will swim up to you so you can pet them!!!! Not even joking!
so do u think that would be a good idea in 50-100 gallons of water in a big metal bin??? what about during the winter???? I really wish I had thought of this before I let my hubby get ducks....we don't have a pond, or even a puddle where we live
Unless the pond is HUGE the koi (or any fish)wouldn't survive. They need a pretty high water quality, all the muck would kill them within days if not sooner!
Barley straw kills algae and Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) kills mosquito larvae but I can't attest to the safety of those products in duck water.

I will lol!!! DH laughs at me because I LOVE being on this website. I usually stay up until 3 or 4 am. on BYC LOL
....... I was thinking the same thing about you putting fish! But then you have to feed the fish, then you have to worry about the fish poop!!!

The last time I came back to this page my reply wasn't posted lol!!! I thought it didn't come through that's why I said the same thing twice sorry lol!!!!
And here they are now, 7 wks later. Pigs, I tell ya, PIGS!!! The brown one I don't have a pic of as a baby, he/she was a random decision. So we have Beans, Eggnog, and the brown one my son named Chicken. LOL!!! P.S. Anyone know what breed Beans (Black and white) and Chicken (brown) are???? I think Chicken is an Ancona, but I'm not sure, and I have no clue about Beans.
I think (almost 100 percent sure) that Beans is a Magpie!!! I've heard really good things about that breed!!! Anconas have a big black spot on their back just like yours and then just random black spots. Magpies have black from their shoulders to their tail and a black on top of their heads, just like yours!
I think (almost 100 percent positive) Chicken is a Khaki Campbell.... Go to www.feathersite.com and type in ducks and click on the link that says Ducks. It will take you to different breeds of ducks!
