Help? Sores on Neck and Face???

Oh they do - but my new birds won't, and any chicks. I have some here that didn't get it, and three that are new. So those are the ones I'd vaccinate.

Weird how they disappear isn't it? Mine in the past didn't do it quite as fast, but usually within 1-2 days anyway. The turkeys - it was BOOM - gone! Like I had imagined the whole thing.

I thought surely they were so bad that it would take a while. Nope!

Unfortunately I've found that on bantams, some of the lesions distort the comb shape. These birds aren't show birds, are breeders for show birds next year, so they don't matter as I know how correct or incorrect their combs were before. But for next year, I surely don't want the combs to be distorted so that's one reason I'll be doing babies.

I'm glad your case is gone! Those birds are done, thankfully. YAY!

Ah, glad to hear that. I believe I am seeing a little change in comb shape here, too, on a couple with larger combs who had several lesions, particularly my NHR roo. And there are no bantams or show birds here; this is strictly a dual purpose large fowl flock. (I'm really their caretaker, by choice; my son and family eat the meat. I eat a few eggs, but mostly enjoy them as a hobby.)

My pretty NHR roo certainly does not care. He is the proud head of his own flock anyway, and it is great to know he won't have to deal with that again. He's a gem, and puts up with any treatments just fine, though.

I'm sure I'll have to deal with it again, as chicks hatch and more broodies develop among the new egg layers. Might wind up getting some vaccine in time, but not for now.

Yeah I went for years and years not having to use them, WITH show birds in the barn! So likely you won't ever have to.

This was an exceptionally bad year. Just weird.
