HELP!! Sour Crop??

Hi! I'm sorry about your chicken. Sour crop is when fiber gets stuck in their crop, so only feed your chicken yogurt and mashed grain. First hold your chicken at an angle facing the ground and massage her crop until she throws up. Then for the first 5 hour use and eye dropper (or something similar) to feed your hen molasses dissolved in water (repeat this every half hour). After hour five you can then lessen the amount you give your hen to ounce and hour until she seems to perk up. Good Luck! :)

Try this its very effective and has worked for me every time, buy docusate sodium capsules USP 100mg is a stool softener which you can purchase at any pharmacy ,give two capsules along with 4cc of red wine do this each morning and just before she goes to bed and make sure to cheak her crop each morning to see if it has emptied. Also provided a fresh slice of watermelon all day long for her to eat as this will help the capsules work better the more hydrated she stays and when you give a chicken something like watermelon they tend to pick at it all day long thus getting way more hydration than they normally whould, do NOT try to vomit your hen not a good idea as it usually does nothing to help and causes stress and possibly she could die if you aspirate her acidentally!, uasually when a crop is full this long its because the impaction is further down the digestive tract , it may take several days of this treatment but it will clear even the most stubborn crop issue , I had to do this for four days with one of my hens also you can put a probiotic multi strain capsule down her throut along with the doucosate capsules to protect from sour crop because once they develope this the prognosis is poor and then you need anti fugal meds plus possible antibiotics as the longer her crop remains this way. The higher the chance of infection setting in also massage her crop several times per day in a downward motion, keep me posted and I wish you luck!
