We used to let our chickens outside the coop and run, until we lost two chickens due to fox this spring. So that said we had to keep them in there run which is fine as it is large enough for the 5 chickens. However we have a stink issue. It is in a wooded section or the yard and no longer has grass so with the humidity and rain it is a poopy mud run.
(We also have two goats in a separate section of the yard and have NO odor issues.)

I cant rake it out and clean it weekly as it is always muddy. We have thrown down grass clippings which is a short term fix as well as hay. But i need something that can last longer then a day or two. Any help is greatly appreciated

I suggest you read this article. It’s full of ideas.

Pat’s Big Ol' Mud Page (fixing muddy runs):

There are two basic ideas. How is the water getting in there? Can you keep it out to start with? When it sets in wet, not real likely with a decent sized run. Still, something to think about.

Can you drain the water out? Does it have a place to go? A common fix with this is to build it up with sand, but what yours looks like is what would determine if that would work.

Good luck with it. These things are not always easy.
