Help! Strange behavior

My 1 year old Easter Egger is behaving strangely. She has spent most of her day sitting in the corner of the run. When I walk out to check on the girls she gets up and walks around slowly, making a gasping motion with her beak and neak. She looks like she's mouthing "help". She has not laid in about a week, but she has never laid on a very regular basis, maybe 3 eggs a week. What can I look for to help her? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

are you able to tell if she has an egg she cannot lay in her possibly can you post photos of her please

if you palpate her abdomen is there a hard mass? or is fairly squishy

A baby chick kept doing the same thing. Stretching her neck and make a silent gasping motion.
I open her beak and she had a hard shell beetle stuck. Actually the bug was not going down,it had its legs gripping the inside of her mouth.
I had to take tweezers to get it out.
Check her throat...just to make sure she didn't swallow something too big.

Like Penny and Lady said, check for egg bound and throat crop issues.
She may be egg bound or have crop issues. Check to see if she has lost weight.

The crop should be full in the evening and empty in the morning.

You should separate her from the flock too. I use rabbit cages in the garage

Also, check her crop to make sure it is emptying overnight. It should be full at night when she goes to roost. remove feed from coop and check again in the morning. It should be empty. If it is impacted they sometimes open their mouth and manoeuvre their neck to try to adjust the contents. If it is blocked, that will stop her from laying and she will eventually starve/dehydrate to the point of death.
