Hi all. I've got an 18 month old Ameraucana hen who has been laying super thin shelled eggs for several weeks now. She is about molting age from what I'm understanding but has not yet entered a molt that I would recognize. She has a bare bottom but has for quite some time now - not sure what that is about but she seem(ed) otherwise healthy. She also has a bit of a bare neck but I'm sure that is her room mate picking at her neck (have been using stop-pick for that). The backside was prior to her room mates arrival so not related.

Two days ago she produced poops at night that look like this. I don't have a clue what is going on. A local Facebook group suggests it may be vent gleet or cocci. There is no blood just very watery and whitish (though frozen so hard to tell) She definitely did not look like she was feeling real well today.

Any ideas?

Cocciciosis doesn't always produce blood in the stools. Your hen could have coccidiosis, but this time of year it's a bit unlikely. That leaves bacterial infection. Coupled with the hen behaving as though she feels ill, is enough in my estimation to start her on an antibiotic if you can find one.
