Help! Suddenly very distressed chick

Our chick is about 2 weeks old. We came home and took her out at night (around 9:30 PM local time) and she was fine. But then all of a sudden she started complaining very loudly and wouldn't stop. Quick chirps at least 4x in each set. This started before I gave her some sticky rice that she had difficulty with, but broke down slowly. She ate 6 little bugs today outside at around 1 PM. She wouldn't let us open her beak to take a look.

Is she really cranky because it's nighttime or is there something lodged in her throat?

Do you have just one chick? Could it be lonely? Are you giving grit?

Yes I think she is just lonely. The other one is living with a friend and he told me his chick was doing the same thing. Apparently she is a Leghorn - maybe they are just inherently noisy. I think the problem is resolved. Thanks!

She gets grit by herself by eating random pieces on the floor or outside.

Make her chick feed mash. Maybe she's hungry.
Mine chirp all day long because they want to be with me. They are driving me crazy.
