My goose Clyde has an extremely swollen and bruised ankle and foot... I have no clue how it happened! I just found him laying down with his bad foot behind him... Because of how he was laying I could see the bottom of his foot which looked good as far as bumble foot goes. He couldn't stand on the bad leg. I witnessed him trying to stand up which was quite difficult for him having to use his wings and all to get up then he stood there on his good leg with the other tucked up to his tummy. He laid back down soon after. I put water n food n front of him cause its obvious he won't be able to make it to his pool or food. I'm hoping he improves by tomorrow but I need advice on what I should do if it doesn't. I found one forum here I was reading and the lady talked about how she gave her goose Tylon 50 injections for a foot issue... I'm hesitant about giving my geese medication so I don't wanna jump the gun n do this unless I have more advice and opinions on this from fellow goose parents. I will try to get a picture if his foot on here tomorrow. It's night time now plus I'd rather keep him resting for now. Gosh I know my boy is in so much pain! Poor baby! My heart aches for him!

I'm happy to say my boy is doing much better today. He's standing and walking on his own and the bruising color is gone but his ankle still looks a little swollen... Hey I'll take it! Since he wasn't free ranging during time of injury and confined n his pen with his mate I'm thinking maybe he jumped out of his pool and hit his leg the wrong way when landing... I'm so happy to see my boy doing better. This is a great day!

No large animals... I'm so amazed by how much better he's doing n one day! His foot was so blue looking and so swollen it was shocking! No blue color at all today and the swelling has went down some. Woo... I think we dodged a bullet! I'll be sure to not let him out to free range for a long time... So he can get plenty if rest although his injury happened in his pen... I wish I knew exactly how but I can only guess. I think for now I will switch out his big pool for a much smaller pool I have so he can get in it easier with his bad leg. Gosh I can't express how happy I am his improved! He's my kid for real! I remember the day I picked him n his mate Cali up from the post office. I used to sleep in the same room with them and sweat like crazy from the heat lamp but I did everything perfect to make them imprint on me... Which worked like a charm! Clyde doesn't like much but he LOVES me and Cali... Lol... They r almost 4 yrs old so I have plenty of time left to enjoy them.. Although this leg issue had me fearing the worst! My heart is smiling he's doing ok... What a blessing!

Awesome news. Yes put a smaller pool in for him so he isn't jumping down to the ground on his injured foot maybe considered making a ramp or putting some kind of steps for them to get in an out of the pool. My dh cut me stumps from trees he felled so they have a way to get into the pool and use them to get out.
