Help! Swollen butt, almost size of tennis/soft ball, vent not blocked but don't know what this is or

Her vent looks a liitle swollen, but not prolapsed at this time. Could she have been attacked by a predator? She has that large scab and bruising, so hard to tell what exactly happened. It doesn't look like there is any vent damage so that is great. Her wounds probably would benefit from a warm soak once a day, followed by applying a plain antibiotic ointment.

Would it be ok to apply neosporin to her?

Also, do you think she could have egg bound? I haven't inserted my fingers in her vent yet, but the swollen area is very soft. I would think if egg in there it might be hard. I guess I could see what I feel. Any thoughts?

Yes I would use plain Neosporin ointment or similar. I doubt that she is eggbound, but I would check anyway. If it wasn't caused by a predator, then it probably was feather picking that got carried away by the other chickens. She has some healing to do, and in a few days, I would get some BluKote spray to coat her injured area when time comes to put her back into the flock. That turns the injured skin blue to hide it, and make it less likely to be pecked.

I have never experienced this, but I would take her to the vet ASAP.
