Help! Tell me what to do.

It's a homemade one like Miss Prissy's. Only I used a glass top travel cooler. I used her plans from here. I don't understand since it's done so well except for the two times. Of course, I guess that's enough.

But anyway, yes, the thermostat is on the inside. Humidity is already back up to 63 from the 61 that it went to and is climbing. Temp is down to 101.1. So it's getting better. I closed the vent hole back up because the humidity was going down before I opened the top. It only lost from 63 to 61 when I did that. It was actually losing more with the vent hole open. So hopefully, it'll be back up in the next few minutes.

I wonder if I get hubby to take bator shifts with me to make sure this doesn't happen again. LOL Yeah, right.

As long as they come, you know what they say, you forget the pain when you see the little baby.

Aahhhh, yes!! Water wiggler temp at 99.7, humidity at 65 and climbing. Light back on. All's well. Phew.

If it jumps up again, I'll try to remain calm.

Could I get an epidural now? I'm gonna return to my original thread. In my panic I started a new thread.

yes, hatching is immenant now:) your doing such a great job being patient too..Its hard --but I should warn you when day 20 hits phew...Let me tell you right now..when you see pipping...leave the bator alone:) They are fine even if they pipped 12 hours ago they are fine...SOme just take alot longer than others..Ive seen pips on mine in am and not until the next day did they come out so the ONLY time I ever open the bator after lockdown is to pull chicks out. Now not 1 at a time either. I wait until a handful hatch and dry out some and recruit family members. SO we all look in bator we all pick 2 chicks each..So when I open bator top all hands go in and out full of chicks in 20 seconds-shut the top to bator and wait until a bunch more hatch out to open again.

My first one was tough, but the second was 4 hours. Seriously, people think adoption is the easy way out. Nah. It's labor too and is way tougher emotionally than my labors were physically. Of course, I've heard horror stories much worse than anything I experienced. Still, it wasn't a cake walk. Hopefully my second hatch will be easier. I've learned a lot about what to do and what not to do already.

Yup and it only gets easier and alot less stressful as more hatches get under your belt. You learn so many new tricks and different ways to pass the time.. when to really stress about things and when to just tweak and walk away knowing its going to be ok:)

Day 20??? This is just 18!!! You think I'm gonna last that long. If the temps keep jumping up they'll be fried by then!

Okay, when you bring the epidural, could you bring a valium, too?? LOL

Seriously, this is exciting!
