I had read that it needs to be lowered at lockdown? Should I try to move it up?

I have only ever read that, (to lower it at hatch) in one place. I do not know anyone who lowers their temp at lockdown. (I'm not saying no one does, just that I haven't seen it done as a standard practice.) Personally I would still try to keep it at 101. The styro bators with the little screw adjusters do jump when adjusted awful. With mine, I watch the red light and I just wiggle my adjustment enough to make the light come on and then I wait a couple hours and check and if it still isn't up where I want it I'll wiggle it just a little more.I had read that it needs to be lowered at lockdown? I know how you feel...Hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised...I had goose eggs last year (rescue) and I actually kept them on a bag of warm rice for a week. When they lived through that, I made an incubator. The temps were ALL OVER the place. I came in one morning - same as you and they were 105. I freaked. Everything I read indicated they wouldn't survive..But they hatched! They are amazing! You just never know. Good luck!!Thanks so much. I am going to wiggle it gently. I don't want 105.5 again! Not feeling like any of them will hatch at this point as things have been so up and down. Fingers are crossed.
Tell him if you are crazy there's a whole lot of friends out there for you cause we all do it....well, most of us, especially us females....lol.OK my husband thinks I am losing my mind. I am sitting here staring at the eggs. Day 20. Should they show any signs at all like a rock or tilt once in a while? Or just pop out unexpectedly? I so wish they would pip so I would know they made it this far!
Generallly, you can hear the eggs peeping a day or so before they pip. If you watch closely, you will also see some wiggling. When they start to pip, you might see such a tiny little piece of shell missing, you won't be sure if that's what you're seeing or not. Sometimes the shell will chip and stay on the egg, and there will be the tiniest crack - again, hard to see. It can take up to 24 hours or more for a chick to hatch after pipping. I wouldn't worry just yet if you don't see any signs of hatching. Give it a few days. Whatever you do, though, leave them be. Don't take them out to candle them. You'll know in a few days if they're going to hatch or not.OK my husband thinks I am losing my mind. I am sitting here staring at the eggs. Day 20.
