Help, the nicest neighbors in the world are feeding my chickens...

Why not start a new thread about leash laws? Then people who want to discuss that topic can move over there.

To the OP: glad you found a solution that works for you and your neighbors. Now you just have to get them to help you combine your yards and build one GIGANTIC coop. Hee hee.

I live in the foothills. Our backyard backs into 250k acres of state park lands. There are 4 houses on our road.

Now leashes on chickens. COOL!
I wonder if they make Rhinestone itty bitty collars? The girls would LOVE EM!

Our county has no leash law.

My neighbors let thier guinea's roam, and I REALLY appriciate it. Last year they had about 20, and we had NO ticks. This year, they seem to have thinned thier flock, and we have ticks again:(

Dogs run free too. We've had a couple problems, but we notified the neighbor and he fixed it (got rid of the chicken killing dog). He also seems to have noticed that we have birds now, and we've not seen one of his dogs on our property since.

Our dog runs free, but doesn't leave our property (someone might mess with *his* chickens if he does HA!)

I'm glad that you came to a good agreement with your neighbors, it sounds like everyone (at least everyone involved;)) is happy with it.

Love that chickens eat ticks!
Another great plus.
Now hopefully they'll get busy and lay some eggs. Of course they probably will lay them on my neighbors porch.
Ingrates!

OK Amazondoc .... I'll explain a few things then. Discussion is one thing, but belaboring a point by reposting it over and over on the same thread is not necessary. Either people agree or don't.

If you have further questions on this or the policies of the forum feel free to PM me or refer to the rules section that you agreed to when joining the forum.

I do tend to agree with keeping ones animals on their own property, but if over ranging is agreed to by neighbors it is a private agreement. Lets hope the new neighbors are as easy about it, now that the chickens are being trained to range a larger area and pay daily visits.

Some of the LGD's in the area range every once in a while. They get shooed home, but overall it is not a big deal because no one loses stock to them. Not even chickens. Feral cats are more of an issue here.

Sorry , but I would have to ASK THEM not to feed them any longer . ITS time they start laying and need laying pellets ALOT more than scraps .

Are they laying yet ? MAYBE help the neighbor get her own chickens . LOL
