I just checked for eggs, i found two. One of them had tiny clusters of tiny eggs on the shell. The eggs were laid within the past 4 hours. Is there a parasite inside of my hen or inside of my coop? Has anyone ever seen such a thing? What do I do?
Are these bumps hard to pick off? Looks like excess calcium on the eggs. Is this from a pullet? Most pullets are just full of calcium. As the birds age, the eggs will have less calcium build up. Not enough calcium is not good but neither is to much. As long as this is not a constant occurrence the hen that laid this egg is fine.
Thank you for the reply. I didn't try to pick them off but rubbed them off under running water with ease. They weren't part of the shell. I have seen bumps that are part of the shell before. My chickens were born in July 2015
