OK these pesky ladies........our 4 redstars.....have been loving life freeranging when we allow this, which had been frequently BUT have pushed this luxury a bit too far by flying out the coop and bugging neighbors gardens and fresh grass seed. And to the point we can't have a picnic with out them invading us!!! SO we clipped there wings.......all four of them even though it was only 2 that were the trouble ones! SO no more flying the coop BUT Now I noticed we only getting 1-2 eggs over the last couple days. THEN I caught one eating a egg in the am. AND to the point she lays in her nest and before she lays she gets up and walks outside LAYS the egg so it cracks on the ground and her and her bud EAT IT!!!!I believe its that trouble maker leader chickey! SO HELP How do we end this........do we need to say Bye Bye to this lady?????

Bumping for you, I am nit sure what you would do in this situation?? I will have to do a search. naughty chicken!!

Are you feeding a good quality layer feed? I would try to add some protein-maybe sunflower seeds...Do they have access to oyster shell? Sometimes they will break eggs, if the shell is not strong... Good luck!

Thanks Mona for the Bump!!!

I am feeding....Poulin Layer Feed and Poulin Scratch and have added calcium into the feed. They really dont go after the feed so much it seems, I give alot of leftover scraps to them a huge mix of whatever.....tops of strawberrys, banana's to Peanut butter leftover sandwiches from my 3 year old. This one chicken is quite the busybody.....i don't know what to call her. But I want my four egg a day back!!!!Boo Hooo!
Thanks for your posts!!!!
