HELP !!!!!!!! They want to take our chickens!

Bantam, I have another avenue that I think is worth checking out.

The city of Madison has come a long way towards people raising poultry within the city limits.

They have a web-site that I think is of interest to you, please check this out and contact for some free help. http://madcitychickens.com/

I was searching the internet for some info when I found this website and thought about your trouble. It talks about raising chickens in a urban environment. It's on the American Poultry Assoc. website. Hope it helps

Barnyard, maybe he was afraid that the birds might think his private parts was a worm...sorry I couldn't help myself...

I had a neighbour complain also about my birds, but unless I was breeding or showing, I had to keep my cockerel and my crowing hen quiet or inside. I also had to have an enclosed yard and get a license for them.

I figure that was why he was actually complaining since he likes to nude sunbathe at the back end of his property.

He probably couldn't take the chickens staring at him, or maybe he heard them snickering...

Hmmm....Male neighbor who nude sunbathes and a 12-old-daughter. If it ever becomes a neighborhood war, most people would be on the side of the chickens and not the urban nudist. I hope it never comes to that, but it seems to me that you would have some leverage with that particular neighbor.javascript:insert_text('

If the neighbor isn't too much of a meanie, sometimes a surprise delivery of fresh eggs once in a while can really soften them up! Once you get someone addicted to the taste of a nice, fresh backyard egg, they'll never want to go back to the icky store-bought ones. Of course, with Barnyard Dawg's neighbor, you may see more than you care to while you are dropping off the eggs!

You know people have to do what people have to do. But I could not live where there are such restrictions. If I want to keep chickens, goats, ducks, dogs, whatever, I don't want to have to go get special permission. I love living in the country. Of course, someone may move in god knows what on the next pasture, but that is a trade off I will take.

I don't have any info or advice for you, but just wanted to sympathize. Sounds like he had no reason to do that, other than he could! I hope you are able to keep them.
