In the last couple of days I have noticed my 8 month old goose stumbling now and then. Today I picked him up to feel for his breast bone and it was sharp and thin. I need help finding what I should feed and give him. I don't want to lose him.

You need to place him separate from your chickens but where he can still see his flock. Give him straight duck pellets and put some Nutritional yeast on it 1 tab per cup of feed. Give him water with some poultry Nutri drench and get liquid B complex and what ever his fav treat is put 1 ml over it so he gets his full dose. Make sure he eating by observing him closely. Can you post some pics or a video. Seems like a lot but the nutritional yeast will help if it’s a niacin deficiency the poultry Nutri drench will give him some extra boost and the liquid b complex also has niacin but the extra bs that will help with energy an appetite. I’d also get a base weight on him so you can keep track if he’s still losing or hopefully gaining. A vet is always first rec. but we know that not always feasible. And pics of his poop will also help. The liquid b complex and Nutri drench can be found at TSC and other feed stores the Nutritional yeast you can wait on till he’s back steady on his feet and putting on weight. The b complex an nutridrench are top pics for now.

You may also find vitamin B3 (niacin) at a local pharmacy in the vitamin section. The no-flush type is the wrong stuff--you want the straight B3 for geese & ducks (or so I've read here). (If you should ever decide to take one yourself, be prepared. The flush WILL scare you, but it won't hurt you.) I don't know whether you can soak it down or would have to crush it (mortar & pestle or between two spoons). Does that sound right, @Miss Lydia ?

Our Runnings store carries Brewers yeast (nutritional yeast) year round. They buy in bulk and repackage it in smaller quantities, so ask at your farm stores, especially this time of year when they're gearing up to sell little bitty waterbirds.

The reason for the Liquid B complex is all the bs working together seem to really give our water fowl that boost they need. niacin for legs strength[ muscle] and the B 12 is great for appetite and general over all feeling good. Well we have had some excellent results with using it. I'd give the liquid b complex first and go to Nutritional yeast later after he is back on his legs steady and feeling strong again. They can't be harmed by it and what their bodies don't use they pee out.
