Hello everyone, my name is Agatha and I live in the UK.

Although I did keep 5 ex battery hens 10 years ago! I am new to this and have just purchased some random chickens from our local farmers market.

I have 8 black/grey silkies which I am unsure what age they are, I can tell from their size that the first set of 4 are older than the other set of 4 and also not sure what sex any of them are yet! if you can tell from these pics any advice is greatly welcomed!!

Here are some of the 8 we have, the first is one of the smaller ones and the rest bigger.

I also have three of which I am unsure of their breed/sex?

After researching online I am guessing the two black ones are Black Sex Link Chickens?? or maybe Australorp?? I'm not sure!

I am a little confused as one has an upright comb but the other doesn't - does this mean they are at different ages or does this tell me one is a pullet and the other a rooster? I've also noticed that one of these is pretty feisty but seems to have the same arched tail as the other so I am confused!!

This is the little pecker with the comb!!

This is the other black without the comb

And then there is this little beauty, the children named him/her marsh mallow This confuses me as there is no comb but has an upright stance??

Any information would be greatly received!
