Help to reintegrate hen

Did you keep her in the cage for the first 2 weeks, and then let her out to join them?
I kept her in a 4 x 4 attached coop a couple weeks where they could see and hear each other but couldn't touch but after 2 weeks I opened the run. My hens wouldn't roost with her for another 2 weeks but didn't bother her in the run after this run in.She looked so pitiful in her coop all alone but until my hens were completely accepting of her I didn't let her roost in there at night. They only had one 'run in'. It happened soon as I released her in the run

I tried integrating 12 chicks into this group of 4 (mostly leghorns) but only kept 3 leghorns 2 welsummers and a rooster out of that batch. They weren't a good fit contained(leghorns need a lot of room)They're separated now

Adding a single strange bird back to an established flock is hard. Adding a previous victim is hard.

The man who built my coop, built a pen under the poop board on Saturday, and I moved her out of the house. Yay!

They paid no mind to her, and today I released her to join them, and it was like she'd never left.

I don't know why, or how, but she's with them again, holding her own.
She used to be lowest on the pecking order, but she's standing her ground, and they are not bothering her.

I'm so grateful to the chicken Gods. 😇
And to BYC members who help when us newbies when we get terrified. 😊
