Help! Torn claw!

Last night I arrived home to discover my male was bleeding from the foot. It appears as though one of his claws got caught on something and is torn. The bleeding eventually subsided but my concern is with infection. My birds are currently in their winter house and it isn't the most sanitary of environments. Is there anything I can do?

Also nip off any dangling nail t prevent it tearing any further.
