My 3.5 year old silkie (and the flock) had lice but she was in the worst shape. I brought her inside, treated the lice, and will treat again for anything that has hatched since.

After the lice where dead she perked up quite a bit but isn’t eating and seems to have a tic or something. I fed her last night and she had a normal poo in there this morning. She doesn’t want to (or isn’t able?) eat on her own.

Like Zoolander, she’s only turning right but I don’t think it’s wry neck. It’s more like a twitch of her head to the right.

Here’s Video of it.

She’s been getting vitamins and I’ve been feeding her mash and scrambled eggs.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help.

Any infection or lice in the ears?
How did you treat for lice?

I would give 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily along with a treat of egg. Work on hydrating her well. Hold a cup of water to her beak and see if she can drink on her own. If not then syringing or tubing fluids into her may help get her back on track.
Is her crop emptying overnight?

I will look at her ears more closely. I treated them with poultry dust. And yes, her crop seemed empty this morning.

I have those supplements on hand and will give them to her throughout the day. Thanks.

The movements look like a neurological symptom. A twitch or tic is a good description. Hopefully the vitamins will help. Wry neck is also neurologic. Head injury, vitamin deficiency, and some illnesses may cause this. Seizures can also happen with chickens.

A bit late to help, but this sounds like a case of ivermectin overdose. I've seen it in a dog. Stares at the wall a lot, won't eat much. Almost acts normal. A little bit gets past the blood brain barrier in vertebrates, but wears off eventually. Invertebrates have no blood brain barrier, so lower concentrations paralyze them more severely for longer. If the chicken was still able to drink, it should have passed after a few or several days without veterinary intervention. I agree with Wyrop, the main thing is to make sure she stays hydrated. If you didn't use ivermectin, then I don't know.

Don't see how it's an Ivermectin overdose unless the OP used it, they don't say they did, they state they use Poultry Dust which is not Ivermectin.
Silkies are prone to neurological issues which can often be treated with vitamin therapy.
