May I ask what you are using to spray with?
DE is not good for getting rid of mites.

Hi, I am using Permethrin 10%. I spray Permethrin every other day inside the coop and inside the run. I am on my 4th bottle now. I was told at one of our feed stores, not to spray Permethrin directly on the chickens. I have a hard plastic kid sized pool inside the run with a 50/50 mixture of Sand and DE, which was suggested by the feed store.

Are you mixing this permethrin 10% with water?
Permethrin is safe to use both in the coop and ON the chickens.

Welcome to BYC....sorry you are having troubles.
What are you spraying with?
Did you spray the birds too?
DE will not help kill an infestation....use permethrin on both birds and coop.

Hold. What is the brand name of your permethrin...I have a few permethrin labels on hand.
Let me look up your exact product, Is it possible that you are not using enough permethrin, may be making it too weak?

I was told at the local feed store I shop at the most, not to use it on the chickens. I will start spraying it on the chickens today. The local feed store told me I should use SEVIN 5, on the chickens and spray Permethrin inside the coop and run.
